WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 -- Sen. Jack Reed issued the following press release:
U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) is teaming up with U.S. Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) and several colleagues to introduce the No Taxpayer Funds for Corporate Investment in Venezuelan Oil Act.
This bill would prohibit the Trump Administration from providing taxpayer reimbursements for oil companies investing in Venezuela's oil and gas sector.
In addition to Bennett and Reed, the bill is cosponsored by U.S. Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA), Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA), Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Senator John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.), and Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt) also co-sponsored the legislation.
