NATIONAL PARK SERVICE ISSUES NOTICE: NOTICE OF INTENDED REPATRIATION: UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, MCCLUNG MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY & CULTURE, KNOXVILLE, TN

WASHINGTON, March 18 -- National Park Service has issued a notice called: Notice of Intended Repatriation: University of Tennessee, McClung Museum of Natural History & Culture, Knoxville, TN.

The notice was published in the Federal Register on March 18 by Melanie O'Brien, Manager, National NAGPRA Program.

Summary: In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the University of Tennessee, McClung Museum of Natural History & Culture (UTK), intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of unassociated funerary objects and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations in this notice.
