ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ISSUES RULE: EXTENSION OF THE ATTAINMENT DATE OF THE COACHELLA VALLEY EXTREME NONATTAINMENT AREA UNDER THE 1997 OZONE NATIONAL AMBIENT AIR QUALITY STANDARDS

WASHINGTON, Sept. 5 -- Environmental Protection Agency has issued a rule called: Extension of the Attainment Date of the Coachella Valley Extreme Nonattainment Area Under the 1997 Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Sept. 5 by Joshua F.W. Cook, Regional Administrator, Region IX.

Summary: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is finalizing a one-year extension of the "Extreme" attainment date from June 15, 2024 to June 15, 2025, for the 1997 ozone national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) to the Riverside County (Coachella Valley), California ozone nonattainment area ("Coachella Valley").
