AGRICULTURAL MARKETING SERVICE ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: SWEET ONIONS GROWN IN THE WALLA WALLA VALLEY OF SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON AND NORTHEAST OREGON; DECREASED ASSESSMENT RATE

WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- Agricultural Marketing Service has issued a proposed rule called: Sweet Onions Grown in the Walla Walla Valley of Southeast Washington and Northeast Oregon; Decreased Assessment Rate.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Oct. 1 by Erin Morris, Administrator, Agricultural Marketing Service.

Summary: This proposed rule would implement a recommendation from the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Marketing Committee (Committee) to decrease the assessment rate established for the 2025 and subsequent fiscal periods from $0.20 to $0.17 per 50-pound bag or equivalent for sweet onions grown in the Walla Walla Valley of Southeast Washington and Northeast Oregon.
