B media, BJD vice-president Sanjay Das Burma and former minister Rohit Pujari claimed that paddy belonging to nearly 1.11 lakh farmers remains unprocured, even as March 31 marked the official end of the Kharif procurement season. They described this as a clear indication of administrative failure.Das Burma alleged that while the government has been highlighting its achievements, it has admitted in the Assembly that a significant number of farmers were unable to sell their produce within the stipulated timeline.He further stated that procurement-related mismanagement has been reported across several districts, forcing farmers to stage protests.Highlighting key issues, the BJD leaders pointed to complicated registration procedures, irregular token distribution, delays in opening mandis, and deductions of around 10 kg per quintal during procurement as major concerns that have caused distress among farmers.They also noted that out of the procurement centres identified by the government, 318 mandis reportedly remained non-operational until the end of the procurement period.The party has urged the government to extend the procurement window by at least 15 days to accommodate farmers who had received tokens but could not sell their produce in time. Additionally, it demanded a one-month extension for Rabi paddy registration, citing procedural hurdles that prevented many farmers from enrolling.Pujari further alleged that despite assurances by the government of procurement without deductions, farmers are facing cuts of 10-14 kg per quintal.He also criticized delays in payments, stating that although farmers were promised payment within 48 hours, many have not received their dues even after three weeks.UNI DP BMभुवनेश्वर, 31 मार्च (वार्ता) ओडिशा में धान खरीद के काम में कुप्रबंधन का आरोप लगाते हुए मुख्य विपक्षी दल बीजू जनता दल (बीजद) ने खरीफ फसलों की खरीद की अवधि को 15 दिन और रबी पंजीकरण की समय सीमा को एक महीने बढ़ाने की मंगलवार को मांग की।
बीजद के उपाध्यक्ष संजय दास बर्मा और पूर्व मंत्री रोहित पुजारी ने मीडिया को संबोधित करते हुए दावा किया कि 31 मार्च को खरीफ खरीद सीजन का आधिकारिक अंतिम दिन है, लेकिन इसके बावजूद लगभग 1.11 लाख किसानों का धान अब तक नहीं खरीदा जा सका है। दास बर्मा ने कहा कि एक तरफ सरकार अपनी उपलब्धियों का बखान कर रही है, वहीं दूसरी ओर विधानसभा में खुद स्वीकार किया है कि बड़ी संख्या में किसान तय समय सीमा के भीतर अपनी उपज बेचने में असमर्थ रहे हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि कई जिलों में खरीद संबंधी कुप्रबंधन के कारण किसान सड़कों पर उतरकर विरोध प्रदर्शन करने को मजबूर हैं।
बीजद नेताओं ने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार के चिह्नित केंद्रों में से लगभग 318 मंडियां खरीद अवधि समाप्तहोने तक भी क्रियाशील नहीं हो सकीं। सरकार ने बिना किसी कटौती के खरीद का आश्वासन दिया था, लेकिन हकीकत में किसानों से प्रति क्विंटल 10 से 14 किलोग्राम तक की अवैध कटौती की जा रही है। यह नहीं, सरकार ने 48 घंटे के भीतर भुगतान का वादा किया था, लेकिन कई किसानों को तीन सप्ताह बीत जाने के बाद भी उनकी मेहनत का पैसा नहीं मिला है। जटिल पंजीकरण प्रक्रिया और टोकन वितरण में अनियमितता के कारण हजारों किसान इस पूरी व्यवस्था से बाहर हो गये हैं।
