Anantapur, Feb. 21 -- The Opposition YSR Congress Party has demanded that the Election Commission conduct a thorough probe into the 2024 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, alleging large-scale irregularities and suspicious polling patterns during the final hours of voting.

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, former Minister Sake Sailajanath said the State should explain how nearly 50 lakh votes were polled late at night. On May 13 election day, polling was initially announced at 68 percent. However, between 11:45 pm and 2:00 pm, thousands of additional votes were recorded.
