Azamgarh, Oct. 21 -- A festive gathering turned tragic in Kodhwa village under the Jahanaganj police station area of Azamgarh on Diwali night, when a clash between the two groups during a community feast (bhandara) led to gunfire, killing an 18-year-old youth on the spot, police said today.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 10:30 PM yesterday when a bhandara was being held in the village. An argument broke out between the two local groups, reportedly relatives, escalating quickly into a violent confrontation.
Amid the chaos, someone from one group opened fire, fatally injuring Vivek Yadav, son of Bhrgunath Yadav.
