Hardoi (UP), Nov. 5 -- A youth accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old hearing and speech-impaired and mentally retarded girl was arrested in an encounter with the police from the Kotwali Dehat area of Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said today.
Superintendent of Police (City) Ankit Mishra said that the incident occurred on Monday night in the Kotwali Dehat police station area when the victim, a neighbour of the accused, was playing outside her home.
"During this, the accused, Rohit Kashyap, under the pretext of offering her snacks, took her to a secluded area and raped her," he said.
