Pune, Feb. 3 -- In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old woman trekker lost her life after falling into a deep gorge near Tiger Point, a popular tourist destination in Lonavala.
The body was recovered by the police with the help of the Shivdurg Rescue Team.
The deceased has been identified as Shreya Pati (19), who had arrived in Lonavala from Mumbai on January 31 for trekking. When she did not return, her parents searched for her in Lonavala and were initially informed that she had already returned.
Subsequently, her parents lodged a missing complaint with the Lonavala Rural Police. Police received information about an unattended bag found in the Duke's Nose-Tiger Point area, which was later confirmed to belong to Shreya.
