The shrine stands on a small islet in the Arabian Sea off the Worli coast and has long been recognised as one of the city's most significant spiritual landmarks.

The announcement regarding the installation of the towering national flag was made during the weekend in the holy month of Ramzan. The Haji Ali Dargah is widely known as a symbol of communal harmony and attracts devotees from all religions, faiths, and cultural backgrounds.
