New Delhi, Jan. 14 -- Denmark's world No. 3 badminton player Anders Antonsen has withdrawn from the India Open for the third consecutive year, citing concerns over severe "air pollution" in the national capital.
Antonsen made the disclosure through an Instagram story, explaining that the current air quality in Delhi prompted his decision to pull out of the BWF Super 750 tournament.
"Due to the extreme pollution in Delhi at the moment, I don't think it's a place to host a badminton tournament," Antonsen wrote, adding that he hoped conditions would improve by summer when the World Championships are scheduled to be held in the city.
