Women are backbone of society, Stalin at Global Women Summit

Chennai, Jan. 27 -- Asserting that women would play a key role in achieving theambitious goal of making Tamil Nadu a USD one Trillion economy by 2023, ChiefMinister M.K.Stalin on Tuesday said women are the backbone of society.

Speaking after inaugurating the two-day Global Women Summit at the sprawlingChennai Trade Centre at Nandambakkam here, he said Tamil Nadu was rankedfirst in terms of highest number of women going to jobs.

He highlighted the vital role women play in families, communities, and the economy,stressing that the state and the nation cannot progress unless women advance equallyand said women are the backbone of the society.
