Muzaffarnagar, Feb. 6 -- A 27-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her former partner just three days before her wedding. The accused commited suicide by slitting his own throat with the same knife.
The incident took place on Thursday in Bhalwa village under the Jansath police station area.
The victim, Pragati, daughter of Vijaypal, was scheduled to marry in Sardhana, Meerut, on February 8. She worked at a private company in Gurugram and had returned home two days earlier for wedding preparations. Guests had already begun arriving at her house.
According to police, the accused Rohit, a neighbour, also worked in Gurugram and was in a relationship with the victim for nearly four years.
