Nagpur, Feb. 8 -- A bear attack claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman and left her husband critically injured in a protected forest area of Nagpur district on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The incident occurred in compartment number 292 of the Manegaon beat, where the couple had ventured into the forest to gather firewood.
The victims were identified as Sulochana Bhalavi and her husband Rajkumar Bhalavi.
According to forest officials, the couple was suddenly attacked by bears. Sulochana sustained fatal injuries, while Rajkumar was severely wounded in the assault.
