New Delhi, April 3 -- A man alleged that his wife was locked inside a room and violently assaulted by three women in the Burari area of North Delhi after they accused her of stealing a packet of cashew nuts, police said on Friday.
As per the FIR filed at the Burari police station, the incident happened on Saturday between 9:15 pm and 9:30 pm, when the victim was on her way home from work and stopped at a grocery shop near a government school.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that after finishing her purchase at the counter, three women asked her to show the bill for the items she had bought. As she began to do so, they allegedly shoved her, verbally abused her, and accused her of stealing.
