Suryapet, Feb. 19 -- In a shocking incident, a young woman was critically injured after a stalker attacked her with a sledgehammer at Sneha Nagar Colony in Suryapet on Thursday.
According to police, the accused had been troubling the woman for some time, claiming to be in love with her.
As she repeatedly kept her distance, he allegedly developed a grudge. Taking advantage of the absence of family members at her house, he attacked her with a sledgehammer, causing severe head injuries.
Hearing her screams, local residents rushed to the spot and found the woman unconscious. She was immediately shifted to a government hospital and later referred to Hyderabad as her condition was critical.
