Lucknow, Sept. 1 -- A woman from Hardoi district was rescued by alert police near the Chief Minister's residence in Lucknow after she attempted self-immolation, alleging financial fraud and inaction by local authorities.
The woman, identified as Roli Devi, reached the high-security Gautampalli area this morning, reportedly carrying a flammable substance with the intent to protest by threatening to harm herself.
Police personnel, including members of the rapid response team, acted swiftly and prevented the situation from escalating.
