Ranchi, March 9 -- JD(U) MLA Saryu Roy on Monday asked the Jharkhand government why Maoists continue to remain active in the Saranda forests of West Singhbhum despite ongoing security operations by central and state forces.

Raising the issue during Question Hour in the ongoing Budget Session of the Assembly, the Jamshedpur West MLA sought to know whether the forested region had become a safe hideout for Maoist leaders to plan and carry out anti-national activities.
