Deepshikha VermaNew Delhi, Jan. 28 -- : A routine political journey ended in tragedy on Wednesday morning when a chartered business jet carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar crashed while attempting to land near Baramati Airport in the Pune district, killing all five people on board, aviation officials confirmed.
The Learjet 45XR, registration VT-SSK, operated by Delhi-based charter firm VSR Aviation, had taken off from Mumbai early in the morning for a short flight to Baramati, where Pawar was scheduled to attend a series of political engagements. The aircraft was in the air for about an hour before encountering trouble during its final approach.
