Dharamshala, Jan. 25 -- Kangra Valley was lashed by rains, and the Dhauladhar mountain range experienced a snowfall during the last two days, after a long dry spell of a few months, dropping the temperature considerably.
Life was left out of gear in the valley. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for Himachal Pradesh as an active western disturbance is likely to affect the state from January 26 to January 28, bringing heavy snowfall and rainfall in several areas.
In view of the forecast, the state government has put all districts on alert and directed District Disaster Management Authorities to remain on 24x7 vigil, activate emergency response plans, and issue timely advisories to the public.
