New Delhi, Jan. 25 -- Renowned India based former British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC) journalist Mark Tully passed away on Sunday morning in the national capital at the age of 90 years.

Mark Tully breathed his last at Max Hospital, Saket around 10 am. Tully was one of the longest serving BBC correspondents in India and is also considered to be a radio legend.

Tully served as chief of BBC bureau in India for 22 years and became a house hold name here for his objective, in debt and authentic reporting.

As a reporter he covered momentous events like Bhopal gas tragedy, 'Operation Blue Star', assassination of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and later Rajiv Gandhi, demolition of Babri Masjid.
