Etawah, Feb. 9 -- A family's wedding celebrations turned into mourning when a young woman died just hours before her brother's wedding procession was to leave in Etawah district.
The deceased, Priya, daughter of Ashok Kumar and a resident of Purailla village under Usarahar town, succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Monday.
She had been critically injured in a road accident six days earlier.
Monday was also the day of her elder brother Avdhesh Kumar's wedding, and all preparations for the baraat were complete.
Relatives had gathered, the wedding pavilion was decorated, and rituals were underway. However, before the baraat could depart, Priya's funeral procession began instead, plunging the family into deep grief.
