Mumbai, April 22 -- The Waqf (Amendment) Act has been made to remove the problems and challenges in the regulation and management of Waqf properties without violating anyone's rights, claimed Union Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference here, he further claimed that this law will ensure all poor and needy Muslims will get justice.

Rijiju clarified that he will not touch the registered waqf property or the waqf property declared through notification.

The main purpose of the Waqf (Amendment) Act is to increase the efficiency of the Waqf Board by removing loopholes in the previous law, he added. UNI SP SS
