Agartala, March 9 -- The Tripura administration has received serious criticism following reports of a stroke patient being stranded for over two hours due to road blockades imposed during the visit of Vice President of India, C P Radhakrishnan, to Tripureswari temple on Sunday.

Police were deployed along a 58-kilometer stretch of the Agartala-Udaipur National Highway since morning to keep the road free from traffic for the Vice President's visit to the temple. During this time, all vehicles, including pedestrians, ambulances, and other emergency service vehicles, were stopped, made commuters and locals unhappy.
