Mumbai, Jan. 15 -- Confusion over voter records and the absence of voting slips disrupted polling at several booths in Mumbai on Thursday during the elections to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, with some voters leaving polling stations without casting their vote.

Several voters reported discrepancies between information available online and the records maintained at polling booths. A voter who arrived at his designated polling station said the mismatch in voter numbers forced him to return without voting despite waiting in the queue. He described the situation as an organisational failure, stating that the details shown online did not correspond with booth records.
