Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 26 -- Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has urged citizens, especially first-time voters, to record their vote in every election, stressing that consistent participation is vital to building a developed India.
India's stature as the world's largest democracy must be strengthened through active and regular exercise of the franchise, he said while addressing a National Voters' Day 2026 programme at Swami Vivekananda Park, Kowdiar, jointly organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
Democracy, he noted, is deeply intertwined with the nation's culture, and its strength is revealed only when citizens vote without fail.
