Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 18 -- A six-metre-long Kerala Kasavu saree has been transformed into a powerful canvas of memory, identity and feminine lineage by Franco-Indian visual artist Olympe Ramakrishna.
Her latest work, 'Voices of the Western Coast', will be on exhibition at Alliance Francaise Trivandrum from March 8 to 28.
Created on a traditional white cotton Kerala saree and displayed horizontally, the monumental textile piece unfolds as a layered visual narrative. Through painting, collage and textile intervention, the artist turns the iconic Kasavu into a living archive that carries stories of intergenerational womanhood rooted in Kerala.
