Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 22 -- Kerala is set to take another major stride in its development journey with the launch of the second phase of construction of the Vizhinjam International Seaport, envisioned as India's largest transshipment hub.

The construction inauguration of the Phase-II development works will be held at 4 pm on January 24, with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan formally launching the project.

Ports Minister V.N. Vasavan will preside over the function, while union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal will attend as the chief guest. Several ministers, MPs, MLAs, senior officials, local body representatives, and industry leaders will also participate in the event.
