Latur (Maharashtra), Feb. 4 -- Villagers in Janwal village of Chakur taluka of the district prevented state minister Pankaja Munde from garlanding the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar when she arrived to address an election campaign meeting, alleging that she had disrespected Dr Ambedkar. The incident led to tension in the village.
A public meeting of Pankaja Munde was organised at the village ground, located close to Dr Ambedkar's statue. After the meeting concluded, it was noticed that Munde had not paid tributes to the statue before the event. She later expressed her desire to offer a garland to Dr Ambedkar's statue.
