Bengaluru, Jan. 10 -- BJP state president Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Saturday asked the Congress leadership to rein in its national general secretary KC Venugopal, accusing him of repeatedly interfering in Karnataka's affairs and remaining silent on the alleged forcible imposition of Malayalam in Kannada schools in Kerala border areas.

Speaking to reporters here, Vijayendra said mere statements or letter-writing would not protect Kannada schools functioning in Kerala and asserted that the Siddaramaiah government must take a clear and firm stand to safeguard the interests of Kannadigas.

He said the state government should ensure that no injustice is done to Kannadigas due to political pressure or interference from the Congress high command....
