Bhubaneswar, Feb. 21 -- In a significant development for students, entrepreneurs, and international travelers from Odisha, VFS Global will inaugurate its Visa Application Centre in Bhubaneswar on April 1, 2026, coinciding with Odisha Day.
The announcement was shared by union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who cited confirmation from VFS Global Founder and CEO Zubin Karkaria.
The establishment of the centre follows sustained efforts by Pradhan, who had written to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on September 2, 2025, requesting the creation of a local visa facility to assist Odisha's growing number of students and business professionals traveling abroad.
He also held discussions with Karkaria to expedite the proposal.
