Vedanta Aluminium transports over 55 million tonnes of cargo in FY 2025
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 12 -- Vedanta Aluminium, India's largest aluminium producer, transported over 55 million tonnes of raw materials and finished aluminium products in FY2025.
During the same financial year, Indian Railways moved about 1,617 million tonnes of freight cargo. Vedanta Aluminium's share represents nearly 4 per cent of that volume, an extraordinary achievement for a private-sector company.
Operating mainly across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh, the company's advanced logistics network moves alumina from its captive refinery in Lanjigarh, coal from nearby mines, and high-grade aluminium products for both domestic and global markets.
