Bhubaneswar, Oct. 28 -- union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today directed officials of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) and South Central Railway (SCR) to remain on high alert and ensure swift restoration of train services in the aftermath of Cyclone 'Montha'.
Vaishnaw issued the instructions while presiding over a review meeting on cyclone preparedness with senior officials of both zones.
The meeting, held through video conferencing, assessed the readiness of the railway network in view of the approaching cyclonic storm along the east coast.
The union Minister reviewed measures being taken for passenger safety, train regulation, restoration planning, and coordination with local administrations and disaster management agencies.
