Dehradun, Feb. 28 -- Uttarakhand High Court on Friday slammed the State government for flaunting its order to remove a senior managing director rank official who had been holding the position for nearly three years despite not being qualified for the same.

The High Court has ordered the Principal Secretary, Power, R Meenakshi Sundaram, to appear before it in the next hearing and give reasons why he should not be prosecuted for contempt of court.

High Court order for initiating a contempt case against Meenakshi Sundaram was issued because the state power department failed to honour its judgement delivered on February 18 to expel Managing Director of Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (PTCUL).
