Nainital, May 5 -- The Udham Singh Nagar police in Uttarakhand on Monday demolished the illegally constructed house of Mushtaq Ahmad, accused of killing his live-in partner Pooja Biswas by slitting her throat and dumping her body in a canal.
The administration's action sends a strong message to criminals, police said.
According to reports, Mushtaq, a resident of Gaurikhera in Sitarganj, had lured Pooja, a resident of Bengali Colony in Nanakmatta, into a relationship by posing as a Hindu. The two started living together, but Mushtaq later married another woman in Sitarganj.
When Pooja objected to his second marriage, Mushtaq took her to his sister's house in Khatima and killed her on November 16, 2024.
