Lucknow, March 7 -- Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Excise and Prohibition (Independent Charge) Nitin Agarwal on Saturday directed district excise officials to pull up their socks to achieve the revenue collection target for the current financial year.
During a review meeting held here, the minister sought clarification from the District Excise Officers of ten districts that reported low revenue collections during the past year.
The districts include Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Meerut, Bijnor, Lucknow, Bulandshahr, Hathras, Moradabad, Aligarh and Bareilly.
He also directed officials to grant an additional week for renewal of licences of liquor and cannabis shops.
