Moscow, March 21 -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Saturday accused the United States of attempting to push Russia out of global energy markets, saying Moscow does not see any commitment from Washington to respect its interests.
Speaking to a Russian television programme, Lavrov said the US was seeking to marginalise Russia, particularly in European energy markets, as part of a broader bid for global energy dominance.
"We are being pushed out of all global energy markets. Eventually, only our own territory will remain," he said, adding that while the US speaks of cooperation, it has not shown willingness to take Russia's interests into account, Sputnik reported.
