Washington, Oct. 31 -- US President Donald Trump has called on Congressional Republicans to end the ongoing government shutdown in Washington, by abolishing the Senate filibuster - in an unprecedented move, breaking away from the long-standing Senate tradition and one that GOP (Grand Old Party) leaders have repeatedly opposed, as per US media reports.
"It is now time for the Republicans to play their 'TRUMP CARD,' and go for what is called the Nuclear Option - Get rid of the Filibuster, and get rid of it, NOW!" Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday after returning from an overseas trip.
