Portland, Sept. 28 -- US President Donald Trump has directed Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth to deploy federal troops to Portland, Oregon, stating that he was authorising the use of "full force, if necessary" in the city, reports Politico.

"At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect war-ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists," he wrote earlier on Truth Social.
