Quantico, Sept. 30 -- US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, addressing top military leaders at Marine Corps Base Quantico, announced directives aimed at ending what he termed as "politically correct, overly sensitive" leadership, vowing to revive a stronger "warrior ethos". He stated that leaders who disagree should resign.

Announcing sweeping reforms to the Pentagon's Equal Opportunity (EO) program and Inspector General (IG) office, Hegseth said that both had been "weaponised" against military leaders and service members.

Hegseth said that the IG's current structure had placed "complainers, ideologues, and poor performers in the driver's seat," and instead paid heed to trivial issues.
