Banda (UP), Feb. 17 -- A 23-year-old woman was stabbed to death by a jilted lover, after which the youth was beaten to death by the deceased's family in the Palani area of Banda district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Monday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ankur Agarwal said that Zakarin and Rahul Balmiki (27) were having an affair for the last three years but could not marry due to religious differences.
"In a bid to marry the girl, Rahul had also converted a few days ago and changed his name, but Zakarin's family got her married at another place, due to which Rahul was very upset," he said.
