Lucknow, Feb. 8 -- A new cyber fraud tactic has surfaced in Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow, where scammers allegedly attempted to extort Rs 80 lakh from a retired municipal corporation inspector by threatening him with a so-called "digital arrest."The elderly man narrowly escaped the fraud due to the alertness of bank staff, police said today.
According to officials, the victim, Chhedilal, a resident of Ashiana and originally from Pratapgarh, received a call from an unknown number on Saturday morning.
