Kasganj, Jan. 11 -- A shocking case of alleged honour killing came to light today in the district, where a 16-year-old girl was reportedly beaten to death by her family after she eloped with her lover.
The accused family members allegedly tried to destroy evidence by cremating the body.
According to police, the incident occurred in a village under the Dhollana police station area. The minor girl had studied up to Class 5 in a government school and later stayed at home, helping her parents with agricultural work. She was in a relationship with Sachin, a youth living about 500 metres away. Sachin had studied up to Class 8 and was working in Noida. He had returned to the village six days ago.
