Auraiya, March 24 -- In a significant verdict delivered today, an MP-MLA court in Auraiya district has sentenced former Samajwadi Party MLC Kamlesh Pathak to six years of imprisonment under the Gangster Act in connection with an alleged high-profile double murder case.
Eight other convicts were awarded five years of imprisonment each, while gunner Avneesh Pratap was acquitted due to lack of sufficient evidence.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Pathak and Rs 50,000 each on the remaining convicted individuals.
