Lucknow, Jan. 6 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of absconding KGMU resident doctor Ramiz Malik to Rs 50,000, as the investigation into allegations of sexual exploitation and forced religious conversion deepened, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, fresh findings indicate Malik had earlier allegedly converted another woman doctor and married her through a nikah. Based on this development, police have intensified action against those suspected of facilitating the marriage.
The Chowk police station arrested Malik's parents -- Salimuddin and Khadija -- from a flat in Thakurganj's Mumtaz Court Apartment.
