Lucknow, Feb. 5 -- Taking a tough stance against illegal madrasa operations and suspected foreign funding, the Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a two-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe madrasas, societies, and NGOs linked to madrasa teacher Shamshul Huda Khan.

Based on an investigation report by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is already probing the case. Now, the SIT will also conduct a detailed inquiry. The Divisional Commissioner of Azamgarh and the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police have been directed to complete the investigation and submit a report to the government within one week.
