Lucknow, March 16 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday issued directives imposing an immediate ban on the sale of illegal and highly lethal rodenticide products-specifically 'Ratol Paste' containing Yellow or White Phosphorus-on online e-commerce platforms.
This decision has been taken with public health and safety in mind, based on information received from the union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
According to the government, under the Insecticides Act, 1968, only those insecticide products that are registered with the Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee may be manufactured, stored, or sold within the country.
