Lucknow, Dec. 30 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) President and former minister Ajay Rai on Tuesday visited Sitapur district to meet the bereaved family of Umesh Gautam, an instructor deployed as a Booth Level Officer (BLO), who died by suicide allegedly due to work-related pressure arising from SIR duties.
During his visit to the residence of the deceased, Rai expressed condolences to the family. He said that it was distressing to learn that neither the Election Commission nor the state government had so far sent any official to inquire about the family's condition or provide support.
