Lucknow, Feb. 18 -- Lucknow has reached a significant milestone in humane street dog management, completing one lakh sterilisation surgeries under its Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme.
The initiative is being jointly carried out by Humane World for Animals India and the Lucknow Municipal Corporation since 2019.
The landmark was marked when a community dog named Chitti became the 100,000th dog to be sterilised and was safely released back after recovery. To commemorate the achievement, the ABC Centre was beautified with educational murals created by artists from Kerala's Fireflies Community along with local volunteers.
