Ch. Sambhajinagar, Oct. 16 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for 15 districts across Maharashtra, warning of rain with thunderstorms and strong winds today and tomorrow, coinciding with the Diwali festival period.

The forecast has raised concern among the farmers already reeling from drought-like conditions and earlier crop losses.

Districts placed under the alert include Ch. Sambhajinagar, Beed, Jalna, Latur, Dharashiv, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Pune, Satara, Raigad, and Ratnagiri, along with various ghat regions of the state.

The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorm activity across these areas.
